Village property to renovate (1900sqm) for sale near Castelnaudary 160,000 Euros

I have been contacted by new Flyer readers who have a house to sell north east of Castelnaudary.

The property, near the village of Les Crozes, has been slowly developing since 1989 from a brick and tile "hanger" on 3000 mts2 into a 3 bedroom character villa.

They have divided the property (with planning permission)into a cottage (1200 sqm) for our future home and now wish to sell the original house on the remaining 1900 sqm.

The property is south facing with views to The Pyrenees and is located in a prime position, only 5 kms from the centre of Castelnaudary and near the village of Les Crozes with it's famous restaurant "La Creperie" within walking distance.

The house, built as a Maison de Vacances for their family and friends is comfortable and soundly constructed with cement rendered terracotta briques and double glazed windows. There is no central heating but with a good wood burning "poele" in the lounge with the flue passing through the master bedroom the family have lived here comfortably summer and winter for more than 15 years. The property is due a full modernisation and redecoration however and is therefore priced accordingly. The property is large enough that further building on it such as a granny flat may be a possibilty.

The property is placed with several local agents at 172,000 euros but the owners have retained the right to find their own buyer so offers in the region of 160,000 euros would be considered. As the new owners will be neighbours the owners have a vested interest in finding compatible buyers.
