Albas is a small village, however the commune stretches over 2000 hectares of Garrigue. It is well renowned to be one of the most charming villages in the Cathar Country. The village presents a choice for both a relaxed or active lifestyle offering fantastic opportunities for walking, cycling or mountain biking and off-road driving. The scenery also attracts many artists' due to the great inspiration of the village and surrounding countryside. For any budding geologists the surrounding area holds significant geological interest, especially for those of you interested in finding dinosaur eggs. Finally and very importantly Albas has a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere, so you can enjoy the many local fetes and feel part of an amazing community.
