Ryanair
Many of us I am sure have spent a lot of time going to and fro on the
Ryanair site looking for the best flight prices, The site is now much
easier to use, but they don’t shout about it.
Use the link below. (it looks exactly the same as the “book now” page).
Put in the start and stop dates of the period you would like to review
prices for, hit enter - lo and behold, you will be presented with the
price of flights for the whole period. (It seems the maximum length of
period it will give you is 21 days).
At this point you can select and proceed to book as normal.

Perhaps like me you had given up thinking you would find Asiatic or
Indian restaurants that were that other than in name.
Well there seem to be two that should now be considered.
Asian
The Saveurs D’Asie in Bram has been open a month, we tried it yesterday
and were more than pleasantly surprised.
Offering Thai/Vietnamese dishes to eat in or take away, Celine (Thai)
the boss will accommodate those who want their dishes spiced up. They
can seat up to 20 people in the restaurant and I would hope that, with
what they are serving, bookings may be required.
It was recommended by Mark, celebrated and French registered English
plumber from Montréal (mail can be passed on if you need one)

Indian
I have eaten in this restaurant so aptly titled Restaurant Indien twice
now, the first time was good and authentic (to my taste). The second
time was not so good and the food was very bland – I think because the
owner Aminur was cooking on the first occasion and on the second he
claims he had forgotten to tell the chef not to prepare the meal the way
French customers prefer.
The décor is, to say the least, naïve, no that’s not a high tech
architectural term, it looks like some spare change has been handed over
to OBI in exchange for a job lot of wood etc that may have fallen out of
kits to make cupboards.
However, I feel we should give them a chance, as I am sure we certainly
would like to have access to a half way decent Indian resto in
Carcassonne.

Let me know if you would be interested in a lunch one weekend, perhaps starting with the oriental restaurant in Bram. Maybe we can fill the place?
Negotiate a bit of deal and inaugurate a local Curry Club? Meet people you don’t know, you never know when it can be useful. |

Wineguru’s tip of the month
is a Casa Mayor Carmenere single vineyard reserve 2003, a fine, full-bodied, estate bottled red from the Colchagua
Valley in Chile. Available, hopefully at branch’s of Champion in their seasonal wine promotion.

In the garden
A time to start thinking about putting in some peas,
sweet peas, overwintering onions and broad beans. Also for you garlic
lovers, just break up a head or two from the kitchen and plant the
cloves 3” deep 4” apart.
